The Romanesque Church of Ják

The parish church of Ják which built in the 13th century is the most complete Romanesque Church in Hungary. An outstanding monument in the village known all over Europe is St. George’s Church. The church, which had repeatedly suffered severe damage over the centuries, was restored in the end of the 19th century by the National Board of Monument Protection. Ják is one of the most significant settlements in western Hungary, in the vicinity of the town of Szombathely.
