52. Citadel in Visegrád
Charles Robert made Visegrád a royal seat in 1323, then King Matthias turned the court in Visegrád into a renaissance centre of art recognized around Europe. The Citadel is the most known part of the system of fortifications of Visegrád (aquatic castle, lower castle, upper castle), since the building standing at the top of the Castle Hill can be seen from far from every direction, and it is the most common destination of tours and excursions heading for Visegrád.
