Casino of Tokaj
Tokaj wine region is a historical wine region located in northeastern Hungary and southeastern Slovakia. It is one of the seven larger wine regions of Hungary (Hungarian: Tokaji borrégió). Tokaj has been declared a World Heritage Site in 2002 under the name Tokaj Wine Region Historic Cultural Landscape. It’s the sweet wines of Tokaj that provide the most compelling story of Hungary’s role in the modern history of wine. In addition to the monuments of folk architecture, the building styles of the aristocracy (e.g.: the Casino) and of the wealthier aspiring peasantry with civic aspirations of the 16-17th century also represent a unique value.
