The Park of a Thousand Years, dedicated to Hungarian culture and history, is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (from January to March), but in winterized conditions (for example tents).

In addition to the outdoor models, you can also get up close to an original Ford T model in excellent condition.

A unique and valuable indoor exhibition of national and even regional importance is also on display in the Park of a Thousand Years in Moravian Forest. More than 500 relics and artefacts showcase the First World War in a richly detailed way that has not been seen before.

Last but not least, we would like to inform you that every day of the week we offer excellent Italian coffees, teas in several flavours and hot chocolate, which we can also provide to take away. 📣 THE EXHIBITION EVERYONE SHOULD SEE: ‘THE FIRST WORLD WAR – FROM BELOW’

➡️ An indoor exhibition of outstanding uniqueness and value at the national and even regional level can already be seen in the Park of a Thousand Years in Mórahalom. More than half a thousand relics and artefacts show the First World War in a richly detailed way that has not been seen before.

➡️ Some of the items in the collection are invaluable and provide a vivid, understated view of what the First World War was like from the perspective of the ordinary person. The artefacts show all the fronts and geographic locations where Hungarian soldiers either fought or were taken prisoner of war. Among these, the Italian front (Doberdo, Isonzo, Piave for example) is very rich in detail, with many artillery shells, close- and long-range weapons, medals and troop badges. But you can also see letters from officers from Siberian prisoners of war, Hungarian military memorabilia from the distant Samarkand, works of art created by war invalids, or a letter signed by Archduke Joseph, for example.

➡️ The relics show the daily life of the First World War with a stunning authenticity that everyone should see. ✅🍓 Since February, the Shop of Sandy Porter is now available in the Park of a Thousand Years. Honey, wine, fruit juices, jams, spice peppers and many other local specialities.

✅⚔️ On 2^nd April, Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, Minister of Defence, and Zoltán Nógrádi, Mayor of the City of Mórahalom, were joined by the opening of our latest indoor exhibition, the unique and valuable World War I – “From Below”, which is unique and valuable on a national and even regional level.

✅🐕 Since April, we have been officially certified as a dog-friendly institution. Our institution is a pet-friendly provider, because culture belongs to everyone!

✅🌳 This spring we planted nearly 100 trees in the Park, which has enriched our flora.

✅🐱 During the summer, four new kittens were added to our “Park staff”, because culture is for everyone.

✅🏛 During the first half of the year, through a long period of organisation and planning, we were able to start the restoration of 3 of our modells (makettek) at the same time. As part of this process, we were able to renew the Gyula Castle, the Kecskemét Theatre and the Hungarian Parliament Building (Országház in Hungarian). The first two buildings will return to the Park of a Thousand Years in the summer/early autumn of 2024, fully completed. While the absolutely huge Országház will be renovated in several phases. The first stage of the jewel of our country also returned to its two-hectare home on the same date.

✅🛥 We’ve added billowing sails to the “Hungarian Sea”, which can be viewed continuously on the waters of Lake Balaton.

This year, the Park of a Thousand Years will also join the national campaign of the Hungarian Tourist Agency “Winter experiences in Hungary” between November 15, 2023 and January 2, 2024.
